Noah Coughlan, a 41-year-old ultra runner from California, is crossing the United States on foot with his ambitious 'Run for America' journey, spreading unity and hope.
Coughlan’s route has already taken him through over 40 states, where he’s actively engaged with communities, especially in Western New York.
He made memorable stops in Seneca Falls—running along Cayuga Street with first responder escorts—and in Utica, greeting locals and sharing stories.
Through heartfelt conversations, he highlights the deeper meaning of national symbols and encourages neighbors to reflect on what brings Americans together.
Coughlan’s mission will culminate in Hawaii on July 4, 2026, for the nation’s 250th birthday, making him one of only a handful to run coast to coast in all 50 states.

Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz has issued a Travel Advisory beginning 10:00 PM Sunday night, as a powerful winter storm targets Western New York.
Residents in affected areas are urged to avoid unnecessary travel due to predicted heavy snow and high winds, which could result in near-whiteout conditions.
Deputy County Executive Lisa Chimera noted that the timing aligns with Martin Luther King Jr. Day closures, aiding snow removal.
Buffalo Mayor Sean Ryan stressed following parking rules to ensure streets can be plowed effectively.
The city is prepared with 40 vehicles, over 2,000 tons of salt, and more than 20 work crews, alongside contractors ready if needed.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning across several counties, with expected snowfall of 10-20 inches and hazardous travel through Tuesday.
